Rules of Engagement

Medic Rules

image

Each side has one medic in every four players. Bandages are allocated as two per person (inc medic), each player carries one and the medic/medics carry the rest.

When a player is hit they must SHOUT "HIT" immediately and can call for a medic. The player hit cannot move. He must lie or sit in place and sling or place his weapon on the floor with his arm raised and shout "medic" for attention. Anyone standing or handling a weapon is considered to be still alive and can be engaged. If a live person wishes to move an injured person to a more secure area this may be done using the grab and drag rule.

To grab and drag you must place a hand on an injured players shoulder and the injured player may move while contact is maintained. To stimulate injury you are NOT able to run.

The personal bandage (the one carried by each person) may be used by ANYONE (other than the injured party) to heal that person. Any subsequent healing after the first time a bandage must be applied by a medic. No one is capable of self healing. This means one person can be healed as often as the medic has bandages.

The medic can be engaged by the OPFOR. If the medic is hit he cannot heal himself, another player may heal the medic. The player acting as the medic can not change during game play.

Each bandage must stay on for 30 minutes then it can be returned to the medic. If you have been healed more than once you must return one of the bandages to the medic once the 30 minutes is up.

If all the bandages are used and someone else gets hit then they are dead. No regen until another bandage (life) is available. If everyone is hit then the whole team is out.

The medic is armed in the usual way but has an additional duty to perform. The medic is not revealed to the OPFOR, nor is he allowed to distribute bandages throughout the team. He must keep them together until used.

This use of medics will mean a need for good team work and mutual support.

Site Rules and Safety

image

  1. Minimum age limit is 17 years old.
  2. Any person being unnecessarily abusive or aggresive will be asked to leave the current game and return to the Safe Zone to 'cool off'. They will be allowed to join the next game. Any continuation of bad behaviour will result in the person being asked to leave the site immediately.
  3. At MILSIM events no loose ammunition can be carried outside the safezone unless specifically allowed under the scenario rules. During gameplay all ammunition must be loaded in magazines. You will be allowed to carry a max of one high cap and as many low or mid caps as you can carry in your PLCE kit. If you do not have any low or mid caps you WILL be limited to only one high cap. Support Weapons may carry two full box magazines. This is to encourage the use of standard and mid capacity magazines. Anyone found to be carring loose ammo or more than indicated by the Sectioncommanders (on milsim only) will be deemed to be cheating and asked to leave.
  4. When in the Safe Zone your weapon must never be loaded. All magazines must be removed or a barrel sock is in place when entering the area. A test fire range is located nearby. The Site Safety Officer (SSO) or one of the Alpha-Omega team will indicate this to you. Side arms, unless holstered, must also never be loaded and carried in the safe area. AOA members are subject to disiplinary procedures for violations of the Site Safety. Some examples of offences resulting in disiplinary action being taken are:
    • Weapon not made safe and cleared (no magazine) in a designated safe area.
    • image

    • Negligent Discharge (ND) in the safe area whether blank or live.
    • N.D. within 50ft of metalled road, at or near civilians.
    • Pyrotechnic discharge in the safe area or when instructed by the SSO when area is deemed unsafe i.e fire risk.
    • Aggressive behaviour.
    • Any act maliciously designed to cause physical harm (instant permanent ban).
    • The SSO/President/Chairman together on an individual basis will decide the definition of a serious offence outside those listed above

      The penalties are as follows:
First serious offence= Verbal warning from the SSO and Chairman/President.
      Second serious offence= 1 game/month ban.
Third serious offence= 6 month ban.

    • If an individual has had two offences and 6 months passes from the last warning without any further offences then the slate is wiped clean.
  5. Due to the size of the site, audible signals are needed for emergencies. Alpha-Omega use international emergency whistle signals. If you hear six whistle blasts return immediately to the safe zone at the car park.
  6. BB's must be biodegradable. Maximum weight is 0.36g.
  7. Eye protection is mandatory. Full-face protection is recommended. Suitable CE approved impact resistant shooting glasses must be worn as a minimum. Eye protection must never be removed outside of the Safe Zone. Anyone seen without eye protection for whatever reason will be asked to leave the site.
  8. There are several public rights of way in parts of the gaming area. However, being an isolated site it is extremely rare for any walkers to appear. Show courtesy, respect and answer any questions if asked. We have written permission to be on the site from the Forestry Commission and the local Police afe informed every time we skirmish. The meltalled road running north south through the site is a public 'unclassified' road and vehicles do pass through the area occasionally.

  10. Your honesty and integrity is relied upon to provide a fun and smooth running skirmish. Anyone found consistantly cheating will be asked to leave the site immediately. Be respectful to your fellow skirmishers, take your hits and enjoy the day. Anyone reported not taking hits will be firstly verbally informed that the complaint has been made about their game play. Allowing for confussion/heat of battle ect. they will be permitted to continue playing. Persistant complaints and/or evidence witnessed by AOA members will result in the player being asked to leave the site immediately. Honesty is the cornerstone of our sport and we will not tolerate blatant cheating on the site. Further to this, a player consistantly accusing another of cheating when clearly they have not been will not be tolerated either. Refer to Item 2.
  11. Alpha-Omega uses a 'bang' rule for short-range engagements. If an opponent is within 2 metres 'Do Not Shoot'. Call 'bang!' and indicate to the player that they have been hit.
  12. Deliberate headshots are not allowed when other parts of the body are exposed. Do not abuse this rule to gain advantage, if you only expose your head it becomes a target.
  13. Pyrotechnics are allowed on the site. However during periods of dry weather their use may be suspended due to fire risk. Players will be informed at the initial site safety briefing. Visitors to the site may bring their own pyrotechnics, however the Site Safety Officer (SSO) must clear these for use. If an explosive pyro detonates within 3 metres of a player it is deemed a hit.
  14. No campfires are permitted anywhere at any time. Portable gas stoves can be used in a safe manner.
  15. Simple medic rules are used in most games. An AOA member will provide a copy for anyone to read. They must be fully understood before the start of play.
  16. Edged tools (axes, entrenching tools, knives, folding saws) are permitted on site providing that they are used for legitimate purposes, such as constructing OP's, sleeping areas, and camoflage (see section 20). Players are legally responsible for carrying and using such items. Anyone wielding these in an antisocial manner will be handed over to the authorities with a full complaint from the team and banned from the site.
  17. Players are responsible for their own health and safety. The AOA site presents some health and safety challenges, such as trip hazards. It is the responsibility of the players to negotiate these in a safe manner.
  18. Contacts must not take place within 50ft of the metalled road running north south through the site as laid down in the BASC Airgunners Code of Conduct found here. Players can transit through the area but must not setup harbour areas or use it to tactical advantage.
  19. AOA members should be obeyed at all times, they act as playing marshals on the site. Visiting teams MAY have an AOA member acting as Section Commander or Advisor asigned to them. Anyone with any issue/problems should bring them to the attention of one of the AOA team.
  20. No litter should be discarded anywhere in the game area.
  21. The site belongs to the Forrestry Commission. Do not deliberately damage any live trees.
  22. Respect the environment and follow the Country Code:
  23. Can you see him?

    • Enjoy the countryside and respect its life and work.
    • Guard against all risk of fire.
    • Fasten all gates.
    • Keep to public paths across farmland.
    • Use gates and stiles to cross fences, hedges and walls.
    • Leave livestock, crops and machinery alone.
    • Take your litter home. Help keep all water clean.
    • Protect wildlife, plants and trees.
    • Take special care on country roads.
    • Make no unnecessary noise.
  24. Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted by law to use pyrotechnics.
Note: As with all health and safety concerns you are responsible for your own safety and those around you.
Please keep this in mind and act responsibly.
